We've received some information about the availability of COVID-19 vaccines we want to share. NYC has begun providing vaccines based on eligibility.
The first phase, known as PHASE 1A includes certain health care workers, EMS personnel, home care workers, and residents and staff in certain group living facilities.
It is expected that the second group, PHASE 1B, to include teachers, first responders, some transit workers, and people over 75 years of age, will begin later this month.
PHASE 1C, to include those 65 and over, and pelople with specific underlying medical conditions should be eligible in March.
Vaccines for those in PHASE 1A are currently being provided at multiple locations in Queens. To access a list of these locations and make an appointment online, click here:
Next week, NYC will open other vacccination sites, including one at the Beach Channel campus in Rockaway. That site is scheduled to open by Saturday 1/16, and remain open from 9:00 A.M. to 7 P.M, seven days a week. You will need to make an appointment online once that site appears on the web page link above.
